Including conducting thorough assessments to identify areas for improvement, developing tailored action plans to address identified issues, providing coaching sessions for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge, offering bespoke advice and support for all CQC processes and offering continuous guidance and monitoring to ensure sustained improvements and better outcomes for people using services.
With a rich background in mental health nursing and health and social care inspection, I bring over 30 years of experience to the table. My career has been marked by dedication, effective communication, and a commitment to excellence in healthcare. For the past four years, I have worked with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) as an adult social care inspector. In this role, I have honed my problem-solving skills and developed a keen ability to communicate and plan effectively. My tasks include leading and directing others, analyzing information to make informed judgements, and ensuring that all objectives are achieved with utmost determination. I earned my BSc Hons in Mental Health Nursing from Hull University, where I gained the foundational knowledge and skills that have supported my long and successful career. Before joining the CQC, I served as a service manager for a medium secure hospital, where I commissioned and managed both low and medium secure wards. My responsibilities included supporting the development of integrated care pathways, clinical models, and the supervision and coaching of clinical and operational staff. In my earlier career, I worked in forensic settings, bringing a depth of experience to various challenging environments within the healthcare sector. I am a committed and enthusiastic individual with a strong drive to succeed. My organizational skills ensure that I always complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
Before beginning my career with the CQC, I spent over 17 years working in the health sector and adult social care sector, primarily supporting young adults with learning disabilities and autism. I began my career as a support worker immediately after college and steadily progressed, eventually pursuing a university education to further my development. My professional experience spans over 20 years, where I have been dedicated to creating better outcomes for the individuals supported. Throughout my career, I have taken on various roles that have allowed me to develop and implement strategies to improve service quality and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. I am driven by a strong desire to positively influence the lives of those who rely on care services. I am deeply passionate about delivering the highest standard of care and ensuring individuals have a truly positive experience. My role allows me to introduce innovative solutions, tailor support to individual needs, and champion service quality improvements. My ultimate aim is to foster an environment where people feel appreciated, respected, and genuinely cared for, paving the way for improved outcomes.
